My husband and I love to travel and travel several times a year. Now that we are grandparents to a 2 1/2 year old we want to take our grand daughter with us when we travel so we have been researching some great domestic travel destinations that would be family-friendly. Since we love to travel in Pennsylvania and New Jersey we made a small list of great locations that you and your family should check out.

If you would like to visit Pennsylvania specifically the Hershey/Harrisburg area there is HersheyPark, Hershey Chocolate World, Hershey ZooAmerica (the Hershey Zoo), The Hershey Story Museum, the Hershey Outlet Mall and Indian Echo Caverns and all of these are extremely family-friendly.

If you would like to visit south New Jersey (aka the Jersey Shore) then you should check out the Stone Harbor, Wildwood and the Cape May area. You will find the Cape May Zoo (free admission), the Cape May dolphin & whale watching day cruises, Cold Spring Village Living History Museum, nice clean large beaches for beach time fun, Morey's Amusement Park & Pier, several outdoor waterparks and so much more!

If you would like to visit the Philadelphia area in Pennsylvania you can plan a trip to the Philly Zoo, the Liberty Bell, Valley Forge State Park, Independence Hall, Music Concerts for both adults & kids, numerous Museums and so much more! Philly really has a lot of things for you to see and do that are family-friendly! Plus, the shopping is great in Philadelphia too!

If you would like to visit Lancaster County in Pennsylvania which is considered to be the home of the Amish here in PA...you will find over 200 outlet stores & malls for your shopping pleasure, Amish buggy rides and tours, Dutch Wonderland Amusement Park, Dutch Apple Dinner Theater, Sight & Sound Theater, Outdoor Waterparks, Petting Zoos and more!
Pennsylvania and New Jersey both have a lot of great family-friendly destinations and hot spots that you and your family can enjoy. If you ask me...these two states should be on every family's vacation bucket list every year!
