Beautiful Accommodations at The Park Inn by Radisson

The Park Inn by Radisson in Mechanicsburg Pennsylvania
The Park Inn by Radisson
The Park Inn by Radisson located in Mechanicsburg Pennsylvania. The hotel is a 15 minute drive from Harrisburg and about a 10 minute drive from Camp Hill, depending on the time of day and traffic. It is located near the Capital City Airport.

The hotel is situated on 22 acres of beautifully landscaped land and is right off the Carlisle Pike which is one of the main drags/roads through the area. There is plenty of parking and if you need a rental car, they have those right on-site for your convenience.

There is a 24 hour business center, meeting rooms, an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, a 11 hole miniature golf course (in-season), an outdoor courtyard (where the wedding was held), banquet rooms, picnic groves, a softball field, volleyball court, guest laundry facilities and more! It is quite a large complex with all kinds of things to make a guest nice and comfortable.

The Bathroom
We got one of their standard rooms which was on the second floor and quite spacious for our needs. We had a large bed, desk with chair, flat panel television, a sitting chair, closet space and a small bathroom with tub, toilet and shower. The sink was right outside of the bathroom. One of the things I did like was the abundance of soft, fluffy towels and the rubber ducky sitting on the side of the bathtub was a nice touch.

Our hotel room was exceptionally clean and as a neat & clean freak, that really impressed me. I thought the room was beautifully decorated too.  There is a small refrigerator and microwave should you want to heat up some food or keep some food/beverages cool. To enter the room, you do use those slider plastic card hotel room keys which I really like for security reasons. There is also a slider lock on the door for added extra protection when you are in the room.

Now for the things I didn't like. First, it was incredibly noisy outside since they had 3 or 4 weddings that day and many of the guests booked rooms. When I talk about noise...people were freely roaming around outside on the grounds...screaming, hollering, partying and all kinds of other nonsense. No one from the hotel staff did anything about it. Next, my husband and I retired to our room at 10:30 pm and were kept up until 5:30 am by the people who were staying next door. They ran in/out of their room, blasted the TV until 5 am and of course...did things that "adults" do while staying at a hotel.

We were NOT impressed with not having soundproof walls and being kept up until 5:30 am. Matter of fact, at 6 am we had enough, packed our bags and checked out due to the noise factor going on in the room beside us and by people clowning around outside & having a good time. Furthermore, when the hotel front desk was contacted about this "noise" issue, not a damn thing was done about it. A few days after we got home, I contacted the hotel about it through their contact form on their web site and was completely IGNORED. Completely and utterly ignored. Not a single response from them.

Our advice? It's a beautiful place to stay that is really clean. However, when making reservations I would tell them that you want a room that is quiet and not near any activities or "parties" that may be going on at that time. We were really disappointed in the NOISE and had to check out early due to not being able to get any sleep.
