Visiting Niagara Falls State Park

Niagara Falls State Park in New York
Niagara Falls State Park is located in Niagara Falls New York. Often times people get confused and assume that it includes the Canadian side of the falls...but it does not. It's exclusively located in the great state of New York.

When you visit the park you will be able to get breathtaking views of Niagara Falls by visiting the various observation decks and/or by taking a little cruise on the Maid of the Mist. Millions of visitors flock to this popular tourist destination every year.

It's one of our nation's oldest and most popular national treasures. The park features a visitor's center where you can learn more about it's history, view exhibits that they have set up and get visitor maps to help guide you along your way.

The park is home to the Aquarium of Niagara where visitors can see various marine mammals, fish, penguins and one of their most popular attractions...the sharks! There is an admission fee to tour the aquarium but we found it to be very reasonable in price!

The park offers guided and self-guided tours. We always do the self-guided tours that way we can visit the things that we want and at our own individual pace. There are several hiking trails for the entire family to enjoy including the kids!

Niagara Falls State Park is open year round and is the oldest state park in the United States of America. At the seasons change throughout the does the programs & events that are held at the park. You can find a complete schedule of events and hours of operation by visiting the official Niagara Falls State Park site online.

We had a great time the 3 days and 2 nights that we spent in the area and are hoping to visit again in the Spring. The next time we visit we will be allowing at least 5 days so that we can see and do all of the things that the area has to offer. You can find a few other posts about our trip by visiting the New York section here on our travel blog.

Note: You can click on each photo in this blog post. It will open up in a new window and in an enlarged size so that you can see all of the details up close. Thanks!
