Romantic Weekend Getaway to Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino

Recently we celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary with a romantic weekend getaway to Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino in Niagara Falls, New York . We're located in south central Pennsylvania and it was a beautiful 6 1/2 hour drive up through the Pennsylvania mountains, through western New York and into Niagara Falls.

The Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino is located on the American side of Niagara Falls and within a short walking distance to Niagara Falls State Park. It's perfectly located in the center of all of the major tourist attractions in the area.

When we arrived we pulled right up front and utilized their free valet parking. We had a friendly bellhop assist us with our bags and headed to the front desk. We had reservations, so the check-in process was quick and easy. As you stand in the lobby, you'll be immediately impressed with all of the luxurious and modern decor. Within minutes, we were headed up to our deluxe guest suite on the 20th floor.

The bellhop helped us into our room, gave us a thorough tour of everything in our room and offered to fill up our ice bucket. I've never met such a friendly and helpful bellhop in my life. It's always nice to come across such friendly hotel employees.

Our deluxe guest suite was beautifully decorated, very spaceous and extremely clean. When you first walk into the suite you'll come across a mini refrigerator, sink area, room safe and other "kitchen-type" of amenities. Every morning we enjoyed complimentary coffee and hot tea right in our room, which is always a treat!

We were very impressed with how large the sitting area was! We had a comfortable pull-out sleeper sofa, plenty of sitting chairs, a desk to conduct business, a wardrobe to store our clothing, etc. In this area you'll also find a small table and two chairs that sit right beside a large window which gives you an incredible view of the city and a partial view of the Niagara River.

The suite had an over-sized bed that had plenty of soft bed linens and pillows. Matter of fact, it was one of the most comfortable beds that we've ever slept in! The bed is in the perfect position to get the best sunlight during the day via the over-sized windows and at night you can lay in bed and see all of the beautiful city lights.

We had an in-room whirlpool built-for-two and we absolutely LOVED that! You definitely need a guest suite like this if you're going to enjoy a romantic getaway! One thing that we really appreciated was that they give you plenty of luxurious white bath linens. You won't have to call for extras at all. At the end of each day, it was nice to come back to our room and enjoy a relaxing soak in the whirlpool while enjoying a glass of wine.

When we travel I'm always particular about hotel bathrooms and let me tell you...this one was impressive! You'll enjoy an over-sized bathroom with an enclosed toilet area, a very large walk-in shower area and of course...your vanity area. Forget your toiletries at home? Don't worry, they have some fabulous complimentary toiletries in your bathroom for you to enjoy. The entire area was extremely CLEAN!

During our stay we enjoyed a few amenities that the resort had to offer. On one particular afternoon we had appointments at The Spa and both of us enjoyed a Swedish massage. The Spa staff was very friendly and professional. We had appointments, so we had no wait-time at all. The Spa is a full-service spa, so you can get all kinds of different professional spa services.

The following day we decided to venture down to the resort swimming pool and hot tub. I really like how this is set up with large windows all around it. This allows the sunshine to come in and helps you feel like your on a tropical vacation. At least...that's the feeling that I got. In addition, it's a nice and quiet place. Hardly anyone was there, so we could relax and enjoy ourselves.

Let's talk about all of the dining options that Seneca Niagara has to offer! On site you'll find The Western Door Steakhouse, Thunder Falls Buffet, Koi Asian Cuisine, Three Sisters, Cold Stone Creamery, la Cascata Fine Italian Dining, Tim Hortons, Blues Burger Bar and Morrie's Express.

One night we had reservations at The Western Door Steakhouse and had the best steaks EVER! Seriously, our steaks were cooked to perfection and just melted in your mouth. I don't know what they do to their steaks, but gosh darn it, I wish I knew their secret! My husband is still raving about those steaks!

On the second night we had reservations at la Cascata which offers fine Italian dining. Our chef that night was Chef Justin and he came out to our table to greet us. If you love fine Italian foods and/or seafood, you're going to love la Cascata! For an appetizer, my husband enjoyed oysters and then for our main course...we both enjoyed pasta dishes. You haven't tried GREAT Italian food, until you've eaten at la Cascata! As a treat...Chef Justin prepared us a special dessert and oh my gosh...that cheesecake was pure HEAVEN on a plate!

Seneca Niagara Resort and Casino was the perfect place to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary! We experienced luxurious accommodations, fun entertainment and delicious food! We enjoyed our visit so much, that we are already planning to visit again next year.  If you're heading to Niagara Falls, New York, this is definitely the place for you!
