We've visited the great state of New York several times the past few years, but never had the opportunity until recently to visit the western part of the state. Unlike New York City and those eastern areas, it's a totally different vibe on the other side of the state.
Let me introduce you to Ellicottville New York which a mountain paradise! You'll find Ellicottville conveniently located between Salamanca (to it's south) and Buffalo (to it's north). According to National Geographic Adventure, Ellicottville is one of the top adventure towns in America and I can totally see why!
When you visit this small town you'll find hiking, biking, golfing, boating, skiing, snow tubing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, camping, fishing, horseback riding and more...all of them nearby! There are shops, quaint little boutiques and restaurants within a 4 square block area. It's a beautiful area to park your car and get out and walk.
We spent an entire afternoon wandering around this quaint little town and let me tell you, I can't wait to go back! The shops & boutiques had some really unique items and gifts, and lunch at Dina's was absolutely delicious! All of the locals were friendly and well...this is just a very cool town to visit.
While we aren't into outdoor wintertime activities, we're hoping to return to Ellicottville for a weekend getaway next Fall. I would love to spend some time up there in the mountains exploring more of what the town has to offer and I bet the Fall foliage in that area is incredible to see.
This quaint, little town in western New York should be on every traveler's bucket list!!! You can learn more about
Ellicottville in New York by visiting their website online.
