For the past 4 years we've been visiting local sub and sandwich shops in the Susquehanna Valley to evaluate their hot and cold sandwiches. We wanted to see who offered the BEST subs in the Harrisburg area and wanted to do it on our own...to get an unbiased opinion.
Back in 2019 we personally proclaimed Flemings Original Sub Base as our favorite. Here we are in 2022 and guess what? Flemings is still are number one favorite place to get a freshly made sub!

Saturday 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Sunday - CLOSED
You can dine-in or order take-out. If you're a local business...you can set up business delivery Monday through Friday for a small delivery fee. They accept cash, debit cards and all major credit cards. Catering is also available.
Flemings Sub Base was established in 1951 and strongly support the local community. They proudly support the local police, fire company and first responders.
On their menu you'll find a wide variety of hot and cold sandwiches, hot and cold subs, salads, side dishes, soups, snacks and beverages.

Hot Subs: Meatloaf & American Cheese, Homemade Beef BBQ, Pulled Pork BBQ in Sauce, Meatball Sub with Provolone Cheese, Ham & American Cheese, Turkey & Pepper Jack Cheese, Roast Beef & Cheddar Cheese, etc.
Cold Sandwiches: Chicken Salad, Tuna Salad, Egg Salad, Turkey & American Cheese, Ham & American Cheese, Roast Beef & Swiss, Lebanon Bologna & Cheese, Pastrami & Swiss on Rye, etc.
Hot Sandwiches: Pulled Pork BBQ in Sauce, Homemade Beef BBQ, Meatloaf & American Cheese, Roast Beef & Cheddar Cheese, Turkey & Pepper Jack Cheese, Hot Dogs (plain) or with Toppings.
Hot Soups: Chicken Pot Pie, Chili, Soup of the Day, Seafood Soup, etc.
Salads: Garden Salad, Egg Salad, Chef Salad, Tuna Salad, Chicken Breast, Chicken Salad.
Side Dishes: Cole Slaw, Macaroni Salad, Potato Salad, Pasta Salad, Broccoli Salad, Red Beet Egg, etc.
Here are a few of our personal recommendations:
Hot Pulled Pork with Sauce Sub, Fleming's Original Sub, Lebanon Bologna & American Cheese Cold Sandwiches, Cole Slaw, Macaroni Salad, Maryland Crab Soup and their delicious homemade Chicken Pot Pie. Those menu items are our personal favorites!!!
Love their rolls? You can stop in and pick up just a bag to take home to make your own sandwiches when they have extra available. Just last week I picked up three bags for $1.00 per bag. They're delicious and always fresh!
There are a lot of different sub and sandwich shops in the Susquehanna Valley with some of them being mom & pop shops and others being franchises of national chains. In our honest opinion, Flemings Original Sub Base is the best!

I would love to try these subs. I would also probably buy a bag of rolls to take home.
It sound like this place has the best combination of sandwiches. I would love to go there and sample several of their offerings.
