Veteran Flag Ceremony at Sunrise Every Sunday in North Wildwood

Veteran Flag Ceremony at Sunrise Every Sunday in North Wildwood

The Sunrise on Sunday Veteran Flag Ceremony is held every Sunday morning at sunrise at the Lou Booth Amphitheater in North Wildwood, New Jersey. Open to the public from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Seating is provided on the wooden benches at the amphitheater with paid (metered) parking and some free down-the-street parking nearby.

If you're unfamiliar with the area...the Lou Booth Amphiteater sits right along the North Wildwood Seawall and just a short walk from the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse. During the summer season they often hold music concerts and other small events in the amphiteather that locals and visitors can attend. Those events can get crowded, so you may want to bring along your own lawn chairs or arrive early to obtain seating.

During the ceremony they will raise a casket flag of a veteran to honor and remember all US Veterans. The ceremony starts approximately 10 minutes after sunrise. The ceremony lasts about 20 minutes with tribute and inspirational messages. Held every Sunday, weather permitting.

You can visit the Sunrise On Sunday official website to learn more about it. We attended one last month and really enjoyed it. It's important to remember our nation's heroes and veterans. Freedom is not FREE. We need to remember and honor them all...deceased and living. Show the veteran community they're not forgotten and that we all support them!

I'm including a few photographs from the Veteran Flag Ceremony and the Lou Booth Amphitheater so you know what to expect when attending. You can easily walk there from several North Wildwood motels and from most points on the north end of the Wildwood island.

This sounds like a wonderful ceremony to attend. It is nice that it is available every Sunday during this season.
