Appalachian Brewing Company in Gettysburg

Appalachian Brewing Company in Gettysburg

Visiting the battlefields in Gettysburg and looking for a great place to grab lunch or dinner? If so, we would like to recommend the Appalachian Brewing Company on 259 Steinwehr Avenue in Gettysburg. They're typically open from 11am to 11pm, but hours of operation can vary.

Behind the restaurant is where you will find free parking. Just be warned...during the busy tourist season, they can get extremely busy...that means you may need to wait for a table or park off-site. If you want to avoid the crowds...go earlier in the day or during the off-season.

On the day that we visited we went early in the afternoon...around 1:30 pm and didn't have to wait for a table. We were seated quickly at a pub-style table. We were given menus while we waited for our drinks to arrive (only took a few minutes). We had 4 adults in our dining party...so it did take about 30 minutes or so for our food orders to arrive.

Everything that we ordered was received exactly the way the order was placed. The hot foods were hot and the cold foods were cold. The portion sizes are generous and everything was nicely arranged on the plate. Throughout our meal the wait staff checked on us frequently to see if we needed anything else and to refill our drinks.

Regarding atmosphere...it was nice. There wasn't an abundance of noise where you couldn't hear each other speak. On the day that we were there...we didn't see too many families there dining...it was almost all adults. So, I can't speak on the "family dining experience" or a kid's menu of food.

We did place 1 take-out order which was a large appetizer sized soft pretzel with dips to take back with us. It was something we were going to enjoy later. They did a nice job of boxing that up for later.

Regarding the restrooms...we did use them while we were there and they were indeed nice and clean. That's always important when dining out!!!

We were there for about 75 minutes overall. We really enjoyed our dining experience and will definitely visit again when in the area. The food was delicious, the wait staff was nice, the restaurant was extremely clean and the prices were just right.

When in Gettysburg you'll definitely want to check out the Appalachian Brewing Company for lunch, dinner or just to grab a few drinks.
