Last month we were down in Gettysburg and stumbled upon the Gettysburg Address Historical Marker located along Taneytown Road....right at the edge of Soldiers National Cemetery. There's a parking lot across the road that you can park in...then walk across the street to get to it. It's a few hundred yards from Lincoln's official Gettysburg Address Memorial.
Gettysburg Address
Nearby, Nov. 19, 1863, in dedicating the National Cemetery, Abraham Lincoln gave the address which he had written in Washington and revised after his arrival in Gettysburg the evening of November 18.
You can then enter into Soldiers National Cemetery through the open gates. Take the paved pathway a few feet and on your right you'll see the official Abraham Lincoln Gettysburg Address Memorial. You'll find another historical marker along with the memorial. Tourists enjoy visiting this specific spot and taking their photographs alongside the memorial.
If you're following the Pennsylvania Historical Marker Trail through Adams County....you'll find a ton of them located in Gettysburg. It would take you at least a day or two to see them all. The Gettysburg Address is one of the most important ones to see.
