Express Scripts and Walgreens Dispute - How Walgreens is Helping

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Late last year the great folks over at Walgreens tried to negotiate with Express Scripts a new contract but those negotiations failed. As of January 1st, 2012, customers of Walgreens that use Express Scripts have been forced to go elsewhere to get their prescriptions filled. Often times this means commutes across town, to another town or a delay in customers getting the prescriptions that they need. Shame on Express Scripts!

Walgreens has decided to do something about this and they have a Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens that Express Scripts customers can use. For only $10 a year for family coverage or for $5.00 a year for individual coverage, customers can get discounts at Walgreens for their prescription medications, pet medications, diabetic supplies, breathing supplies and more! This discount prescription club participates with over 8,000 name brand and generic medications! Wow, what a great deal and thank you Walgreens for stepping up to the plate to help ease this unfortunate situation for Express Scripts customers.

As someone who is chronically ill, I know what a pain in the butt it is to drive across town to another pharmacy to get a medication I need and when I have had to do that, there is often a delay in me getting it. Just not a good situation at all.

Unlike Express Scripts, the great folks over at Walgreens really appreciate and value their pharmacy customers and they are doing their best to help out and ease this unfortunate burden that Express Scripts has forced on their clients/customers.

I would like to invite you to follow Walgreens on Facebook and Walgreens on Twitter so that you are kept up-to-date on what is going on with this situation. In addition, give a big "shout out" of support to the great folks over there at Walgreens!

Thank you Walgreens for caring about your customers!
