World War II Lookout Tower in Cape May

World War II Lookout & Fire Tower in Cape May, New Jersey
A couple of weeks ago my husband and I took a vacation trip down to the Wildwood and Cape May, New Jersey areas and one of the places we went to visit was the World War II Lookout Tower down in Cape May, Sunset Beach to be exact.

Note: You can click on the photos in this travel blog post to enlarge them to see details!

The parking and self-guided tour is totally free and makes for a nice little educational adventure. The parking is close by and then you walk down this little paved path to read the informational story panels along the path. You will then reach the World War II Lookout Tower and can walk around it.

Right behind the Lookout Tower is the All Veterans Memorial and you can read about that and check it out while you are there. Once you are done with that tour you can walk over to Sunset Beach and check out the "remains" from the Concrete Ship (also free) or look for some Cape May Diamonds on the beach.

If you want to grab a bite to eat you can grab some food & beverages at the beachfront grill, do a little shopping or take in a round of miniature golf.

If you are visiting Cape May this year...make sure you take a little drive down to Sunset Beach which is near the Cape May Lighthouse. Great family fun that doesn't cost a lot of money since most activities there are free.
