The Mount Hill Tavern is a certified PA Preferred Restaurant located at 2120 Colonial Road in Harrisburg Pennsylvania . This certification is important because they believe in fresh, locally sourced ingredients which is great for the Pennsylvania local economy.
All food is farm fresh and made on-the-spot by executive chef Jason Clark. They have an extensive menu consisting of various beef steaks, lamb, crab cakes, beef short ribs, pork chops, Angus burgers, fish & chips, salmon, butternut squash ravioli and more!
My husband and I started off with some delicious appetizers consisting of steamed shrimp, fresh veggies and some dip. Along with that I enjoyed a nice smooth glass of white wine while he enjoyed a beer. We followed that up with some clam corn chowder soup which was out of this world delicious!
I had the USDA Prime Sirloin Steak with Fingerling Potatoes, Green Beans and their famous house-made steak sauce. Hubby enjoyed two Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes, Fingerling Potatoes with Sauteed Asparagus. On the side we both enjoyed their Cheddar Cheese Biscuits. To finish up our dining experience I enjoyed a large piece of Carrot Cake for dessert and hubby tore into a piece of Peanut Butter Pie.
We found the wait staff to be super knowledgeable and very courteous. The restaurant is extremely clean, beautifully decorated and had a light & fun atmosphere, one that we highly enjoyed on our evening out. Matter of fact, we plan on returning again very soon.
