Our Lady of the Poconos Grotto-Shrine
A few months ago we took a trip up to Mount Pocono in the Pocono Mountains and stumbled upon Our Lady of the Poconos Grotto-Shrine which is located between Woodland Road and Meadowside Road, across the street from the Villa of Our Lady Retreat House in Mount Pocono Pennsylvania.
My husband and I are both Catholics and as soon as we saw it, we had to stop and visit. The shrine is open to the public and any faith is welcome to visit it. The shrine honors Mary as the Lady of the Poconos and you'll find beautiful lit candles sitting there when you visit. This area is open to the public and you can stop to light a candle and pray. It's very peaceful, relaxing and serene.
The Villa of Our Lady Retreat House is a Bernardine Franciscan facility that provides a quiet and prayer-filled place for all people to renew their spiritual faith and to reconnect or to connect with god. If you want to participate in a retreat, they do have private room accommodations with private bathrooms. Residents and guests can enjoy home cooked meals in their dining room.
We were staying at a local resort up in Mount Pocono and totally stumbled upon Our Lady of the Poconos Grotto-Shrine by accident. If we ever get up to the area again, I plan on stopping by a second time to pray and visit the shrine. You can learn more about Villa of Our Lady Retreat House by visiting their website online.
