Great Wolf Lodge is a combination lodge, indoor water park with slides and 6 swimming pools, a bowling alley, full service spa and they have all kinds of on-site activities for the kids to do. You can check into this lodge for a few days and never want to leave. Seriously, there is so much to do while you're here!
We had the pleasure of visiting the
Great Wolf Lodge that is located in the
Pocono Mountains in
Pennsylvania. The lodge is just about a 2 hour car drive from Harrisburg and Hershey and it was a beautiful drive on the way up. It's very scenic and you'll see a lot of mountains and valleys during your drive there.
If you're looking to save some money and get some great deals on your stay, I highly suggest you visit their website before booking your accommodations anywhere else. They often post specials on their
website and/or Facebook page. Obviously, it's cheaper and you save more when you plan to stay during the weekday and stay for 2 or more nights.
The indoor water park is open year-round and the temperature is kept a cozy 84 degrees. There are numerous slides, fountains, the Hydro Plunge water coaster, activity pools for the kids and so much more! You'll want to plan on "playing" at the water park for several hours during your stay, so that you can do all of the various activities that are offered there.
With that said, Great Wolf Lodge offers families so much more than just water fun! They have an on-site bowling alley, game arcade, XD theater, Raccoon Lagoon Play Park for the kids, a rope course, kid's creation station, glow-in-the-dark miniature golf, kid's arts and craft events and so much more! That's right, there is something to see and do all day long!
This lodge just isn't for kids...there are a ton of things for the adults to enjoy too, like their full service spa and their fitness center. Most of the water attractions the adults can do alone and/or with the kids. While the lodge caters to kids & families...adults who are looking for a weekend getaway (alone) would enjoy spending some time here too.
Great Wolf has a ton of different dining options for you to enjoy during your stay from "lighter" cafe style meals, to four-course dining and everything in between. Plus, if you love Starbucks (like I do), they have an on-site Starbucks at the lodge too!
We took our 7 1/2 year old granddaughter with us up to the Great Wolf Lodge in the Poconos and all three of us had a really great time. She talked non-stop in the car during the ride home and made us promise to bring her up to Great Wolf Lodge again in the near future. Seriously, she loved this place!

There does seem to be many different attractions at the Great Wolf Lodge. I definitely see why you would need a stay longer than aday or two if you want to be able to try everything.
