Family Movie Night at Haar's Drive-In Movie Theater

Haar's Drive-In Movie Theater in Dillsburg Pennsylvania
Looking for something fun to do in south central Pennsylvania? Looking to relive your childhood? If so, head to Haar's Drive-In Movie Theater located on 185 Logan Road in Dillsburg. They're open on Friday's, Saturday's and on Sunday's for the 2017 season. Open rain or shine!

The box office opens at 6:30pm and is open until the end of intermission. Admission is as follows: Kids ages 12 and up (including adults) is $8.00 per person. Children age 3 to 11 years of age is $2.00 per person. If you plan on going, please realize that they take CASH ONLY, so plan ahead! No alcohol, drugs or pets are allowed on the property.

When I was a kid we would all pile into various family vehicles and head to local drive-in move theaters. At that time, there were 4 or 5 of them in the Harrisburg area. Now...the only one that I'm aware of is the Haar's Drive-In in Dillsburg.

If you want to relive your childhood and give your children/grandchildren the drive-in movie theater experience, I suggest planning ahead. Haar's is very good about updating their website and/or Facebook with the current movie showing list. Check it before you go.

Next, if you want to save some money, pack a brown bag lunch, snacks and drinks. We take a small cooler to keep our beverages cold and I pack a lunch bag or snack bag for every member in the family. We take little throw blankets, pillows and dress all of the younger children in their pajamas. The little one's typically fall asleep after movie #1 and the older kids fall asleep during movie #2 or on the way home.

Bring along a battery-operated radio in case your vehicle's radio goes dead. To listen to the movie you'll want to tune-in to FM channel 101.1. In addition, give your vehicle's windshield a good cleaning before you go, so that you can clearly see the movie out your window! Take an umbrella or two...just in case it starts raining and you need to go into the concession stand to use their facilities. Just a few tips on that!

Every summer we plan 2-3 visits to Haar's Drive-In Movie Theater for family movie nights! It's a lot of fun for all of us and thankfully, Haar's is only a 35-40 minute drive away.
