The Merry Widow Bed and Breakfast Inn in Cape May

The Merry Widow Bed & Breakfast Inn in Cape May
Every year we take a trip or two down to Cape May in New Jersey. We enjoy visiting this seaside town and experiencing all of the local attractions. There is something to see and do, year-round in Cape May! Even though it's hustling and bustling during the summer tourist season, don't let that stop you from visiting the other three seasons of the year too. Matter of fact, Fall is a beautiful time to visit Cape May!

The Merry Widow is a Victorian Bed & Breakfast Inn located just steps from the Washington Street Mall, at the corner of Jackson Street. It's one of the prettiest Bed & Breakfast Inns in Cape May County. It was built around 1879 and has been fully restored and it just oozes Victorian charm. It's one of 16 restored structures in Cape May.

It's done in the Queen Anne style and features beautiful castle turrets. I love the paint colors on the outside which SCREAM the Victorian era. At the top of the castle turrets you'll find weather vanes if you look closely and check out that beautiful porch.

I've never been inside the Bed & Breakfast Inn, but I heard that it's absolutely gorgeous. A friend of mine stayed there once and told me that she believes that there are four fully-furnished guest suites and the inn is open year-round to guests and visitors. The beach is only a few blocks away and the inn sits right across the street to the Washington Street Mall, so it's in an ideal location for travelers who want to be close to it all.

When we're in the area I always like to do some shopping at the Washington Street Mall and one of my favorite stores is located in the cellar of the Merry Widow. It's called the Cape May Olive Oil Co. and they sell the BEST olive oil and flavored olive oils in the world! Every time I'm down there I buy a few bottles of their White Peach Olive Oil which we enjoy using as a dipping oil with artisan bread. Oh my gosh, delicious and I highly recommend it.

So, if you're looking for a beautiful Bed & Breakfast Inn for your Cape May accommodations, we would have to recommend The Merry Widow. It's huge and absolutely gorgeous!
