Spend the Day at Land of Little Horses in Gettysburg

Land of Little Horses in Gettysburg Pennsylvania
The Land of Little Horses is a performing animal theme park and farm located at 125 Glenwood Drive in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. . They feature scheduled shows that star the miniature horses which are the main attraction. The theme park is open weather permitting April through October, every day from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and is handicap accessible.

Even though its called Land of Little Horses, they have a lot more than just miniature horses! On the farm you'll see goats, chickens, alpacas, peacocks, horses, ponies, pigs, sheep, deer, miniature donkeys, and more! I like to think of it as a petting, performance zoo and farm that caters to children and adults!

Once inside the park you're free to roam around and participate in the activities that you're interested in. The majority of them are included in your admission price, others do require an additional fee. You can find a full list of activities and their event schedule on their website.

Our grandchildren love to feed and pet the animals. You can't bring food into the park, but you can purchase approved animal feed cups once you're there. One of the activities that the kids really enjoy are the pony rides which cost $5.00 per child/per ride. Oh my gosh, these rides are one of the biggest highlights from our visit. The kids talked about it for hours and hours!

There is a really nice playground area for the kids to enjoy. They can climb, swing, slide, etc. As a parent, its YOUR JOB to monitor your own children while they're playing. If the kids are into gemstones and rocks, they can go gem mining. You will have to purchase the kit while you're there. Whatever the kids find, they get to take home as a souvenir.

You can make an entire day of it by bringing along your own picnic-style lunch and enjoying that in the picnic area or by purchasing food at their onsite cafe (salads, subs, french fries, wraps, hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza, chicken nuggets, ice cream, ice-cold beverages, etc.).
