Scenic Atlantic Ocean Views on the North Wildwood Seawall

Hereford Inlet in North Wildwood New Jersey
The North Wildwood Seawall is a concrete pathway that runs along the North Wildwood beaches and wraps around the Hereford Inlet, behind the famous Hereford Inlet Lighthouse. It's a popular walking trail with locals and visitors who vacation on the island.

You'll find on-street paid (metered) and non-paid parking along with a large (paid-metered) parking lot that's located not far from the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse. You can walk to the seawall from most North Wildwood hotel and motel locations.

Every time we visit the island we spend quite a bit of time walking the seawall. It's an easy walk and if your disabled and in a wheel chair...you can still go up on the concrete trail to enjoy the scenic views. You'll want to wear comfortable walking shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. If you're going to be out on a hot summer day...I recommend applying sunscreen and bringing a water bottle along with you.

You'll find wooden benches and three gazebos along the trail that you can sit in. They provide you with some much needed shade and allow you to sit down and relax. These gazebos allow you to get up close & personal with the Atlantic Ocean without having to trek through the sand.

You'll find wooden benches near 2nd. Avenue and JFK Beach Blvd. and additional benches located directly behind the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse that you can enjoy. We recommend visiting the beautiful lighthouse gardens (free) while you're there. In my honest opinion...the ocean views located behind the lighthouse are the BEST on the entire Wildwoods island.
