Family Friendly Dining at Promenade Family Restaurant on Derry Street

The Promenade Family Restaurant is a favorite among locals in the Union Deposit Road and Derry Street areas in Harrisburg. It's been around for decades! The restaurant is located on Derry Street and offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. They offer your classic American cuisine at a very affordable price.

You'll find perfectly grilled steaks, ham, meatloaf, Italian-style dishes, crab cakes, seafood, hamburgers, soups, salads, wraps, hot and cold sandwiches, fish, appetizers and let me tell you...they have some of the BEST homemade desserts in town. It was our 35th wedding anniversary and we decided to visit the Promenade Family Restaurant. We have dined at this establishment many times. Never a complaint. 

We're always seated very quickly by the friendly wait staff. Within minutes we received our menus and beverages of choice. They're family-friendly and even when catering to families, it's still pretty quiet. The type of dining we enjoy. My wife ordered a NY strip steak, french fries, grilled mushrooms and coleslaw. I ordered a smokehouse burger, french fries and a cup of chili. Both of our meals came with a dinner roll. 

From the time we placed our order until it arrived at our table was about 20 minutes. Everything that we ordered was cooked to perfection. Hot foods were hot and cold foods were cold. Every 8-10 minutes our waitress stopped by our table to offer drink refills and to see how our meal was going. She was very attentive to all of the patrons in her section that were dining that day and you could tell that she really enjoyed her job. Nice to see!

The Promenade Family Restaurant reminds you of a diner, but their food is 110% better! We love their family-friendly atmosphere, quick and friendly service and everything we've ever tried from their menu has been delicious! If you're in the area...we highly recommend that you give them a try.
