Every few years we enjoy taking a trip up to Niagara Falls and exploring the area. The last time we were up there we spent 3 days exploring Niagara Falls State Park, the Maid of the Mist, the Wax Museum and several of the area's local restaurants. We always find something new to see and do while we're there.
On our most recent trip we visited the Aquarium of Niagara located on Whirlpool Street in Niagara Falls, New York. It's open 7 days a week from 9 AM to 5 PM and is accredited by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums. Admission ranges from $14.95 to $17.95 per person. It's a really nice, family-friendly place to visit.
You can purchase your admission tickets online or at the door. You'll have to pay for parking $5.00 per car. The facility is handicap accessible. When visiting the aquarium we recommend that you allow at least 2 hours in your schedule so that you can see and do all of the activities that are available. Wear comfortable walking shoes and leave bags & packages in your vehicle.
While at the aquarium you'll see all kinds of different animals. You'll see otters, penguins, birds, fish, jellyfish, stingrays, seals, horseshoe crabs, Florida horse conch, eels, turtles, sharks, octopus, frogs, and more! They have a really nice selection and they offer interactive animal encounters. You can obtain all of that information from their official website.
What's really nice is that you take your own self-guided tour throughout the aquarium. You can take your time and really experience it. Throughout the year they offer various educational programs for adults and/or children. The classes are affordable and offer a unique hands-on experience.
We had a great time during our visit and are looking forward to taking both of our grandchildren the next time we visit Niagara Falls.
