Dinner Date to the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

We enjoying going out to dinner one night every week and try to select a different restaurant as often that we can. It's a great way to spend time together, to try out new dishes, and to support our local community. As a married couple, it's important for bonding time too!

The Cracker Barrel Old Country Store is one that we're familiar with but haven't dined their for a few years. We decided to visit the location on Bridle Drive in Harrisburg. To avoid the dinner crowd we arrived at 4:00 pm. Some restaurants will allow you to order specials from their lunchtime menu if you arrive before the traditional dinnertime rush.

On the day that we visited (a Friday) they were only 60% full, so we were seated immediately. A hostess came over within seconds to hand us the menu and to get our beverage order. Cracker Barrel has a nice selection of your traditional comfort foods and home cooked meals. Meatloaf, Baked Macaroni and Cheese, a variety of Chicken Entrees, Steaks, etc.

It only took about 25 minutes for us to get our meals. Everything arrived as we ordered with no problems at all. Everything was hot and appealing to the eye. One thing that has always impressed us with Cracker Barrel is their generous portion sizes and their affordable prices. We enjoyed the main meal and opted for dessert. It only took 5 minutes for dessert to arrive on the table. It was just as good as the main meal.

After dining my wife did a little shopping in the Old Country Store. She picked up a few things and was pleased to get a new poncho/cape on clearance for twenty bucks. I purchased a few old-time candies for our grandchildren while we were there.

Dining at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store has always been a pleasant experience and it was nice to return again.
