The State Museum is located in the Capital City Harrisburg of the state of Pennsylvania. It covers all aspects of history relating to the state. My husband and I visited the Museum yesterday and spent 2 hours there viewing the exhibits. Here are some pictures of what we saw.

These exhibits were some of our favorites, so we really took our leisurely time going through them. Luckily for us, we visited during a weekday and there were no crowds or long lines. As you move from exhibit to exhibit, make sure you take the time read any information that is provided, so that you can learn more about what your seeing. Way too many people just walk by.

We enjoyed our 2 hours at the Museum, especially because it was FREE. When you enter the building, they give you a map so that you can find your way around to all the exhibits. On the bottom floor you will find a gift shop and some artwork on display that you can purchase made by local artisans. I loved a lot of the art pieces but found many of them to be out of my price range. I did pick up a few trinkets at the gift shop to remind us of our day!
