Visiting Lake Tobias Wildlife Park in Halifax Pennsylvania

If you are looking for a fun filled family adventure in Pennsylvania then one of your destinations should be the Lake Tobias Wildlife Park located in Halifax. This wonderful Wildlife Park and Zoo is celebrating it's 45th season in 2011. Wow!

The Lake Tobias Wildlife Park features a Safari Tour where you ride in specially designed cruisers which take you through the 150 acre park. On the safari tour you will see sheep, buffalo, eland, elk, emu, deer, llama, yaks, bison and other animals that they take care of and show to the public.

After your safari tour you can take the kids and head on over to the petting zoo where the little ones can get up close and personal with the alpaca, armadillos, camels, dwarf pony, deer, fawns, monkeys, guinea pigs, lambs, lemurs, llama, donkeys, goats and sheep. Every time we bring our little grand daughter to the wildlife park...this is her favorite thing to do!

The reptile building offers a variety of snakes, reptiles and birds for you to check out. Personally, I am not a fan of snakes but I can tolerate seeing them behind glass! I do like going into the reptile building because I am a bird lover. Reptiles of any type are just not my thing...but men and kids seem to love them!

The zoo has wonderful exhibits where you can see zebras, lions, tigers, alligators, cougars, cranes, monkeys, donkeys, ducks, ostrichs, peacocks, prairie dogs, quails and a variety of other animals.

Lake Tobias Wildlife Park in Halifax Pennsylvania is one of our favorite zoos to visit. It is very well maintained, family friendly and a lot of fun for the entire family! It's just a short drive from downtown Harrisburg or from Hershey (about 40 to 45 minutes) and is centrally located in Pennsylvania.
