I love being a real estate agent more than I ever thought I would. I really love homes and people so I knew it would be a good combination for me but I didn’t realize I’d be quite so good at it. My clients tell me it’s because I’m really thoughtful and totally understand how to get them the best deals and what they need out of a home but you know, at the same time I think it’s really important to listen more than I talk.
For example, I had some first time homebuyers a few months ago that were really nervous about all the expenses that come with owning a home and so I talked to them about http://www.electriccompaniesindallas.com/ and mortgage insurance and whether or not they needed flood insurance. Once we got it all out on paper they felt so much better about buying a house and I was happy to help!
They were actually expecting their first baby so I was really happy to be able to give them a place to call home at this time in their lives. I want to reiterate that being a real estate agent isn’t as easy as people make it out to be. All my friends think I just drive around town and look at pretty houses and collect my check but I’m constantly previewing homes and worrying over changes in laws and keeping up to date on mortgage rates. It’s not like it’s a once a week job – I’m pretty much on the clock full time. And since it’s commission based my income is totally dependent upon how hard I work so I have to work extra hard just to stay ahead of the curve.
I love my job, don’t get me wrong, but people who think it’s a cake walk are sorely mistaken. I’d like them to step in my shoes for just one day and tell me how hard they’d work if they were me and didn’t have a real boss!
