My Top 15 Favorite Travel Quotes

My Top 15 Favorite Travel Quotes
Collecting travel quotes is something that I have been doing since I was 18 years old and went on my first overseas trip. I have a large leather bound journal where I have been jotting down various quotes over the years and today...I thought I would share 15 of my favorite travel quotes with all of you.

"No one realizes how beautiful it is to travel until he comes home and rests his head on his old, familiar pillow." - Lin Yutang

"All journeys have secret destinations of which the traveler is unaware." - Martin Buber

"There's a book that tells you where you should go on your vacation. It's called your checkbook." - Author Unknown

"The traveler sees what he sees. The tourist sees what he has come to see." - G.K. Chesterton

"A journey is best measured in friends, rather than miles." - Tim Cahill

" The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page." - St. Augustine

“The farther you go, however, the harder it is to return. The world has many edges, and it's easy to fall off.” - Anderson Cooper

“The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” - Lao Tzu

“Did you ever notice that the first piece of luggage on the carousel never belongs to anyone?” - Erma Bombeck

"The whole object of travel is not to set foot on foreign land; it is at last to set foot on one's own country as a foreign land." - G.K. Chesterton

“Travel brings power and love back into your life.” - Rumi

"In America there are two classes of travel - first class, and with children." - Robert Benchley

“It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey that matters, in the end.” - Ernest Hemingway

“It is good to have an end to journey toward, but it is the journey that matters in the end.” - Ursula K. Le Guin

"Not all those who wander are lost." - J. R. R. Tolkien

I have hundreds of them in my collection but these 15 are some of my favorite ones! When we are traveling I like to buy postcards and write a travel quote onto them and then send them back home to friends and loved ones. They always look forward to getting the postcard and seeing what quote I add to it. In the coming weeks I will share some more with all of you who love to travel and see the world!
