Are you heading down to
Wildwood New Jersey? If you are the type of person who is looking for the best views of the
sunsets on the Wildwood island you will want to head up to North Wildwood and take a walk around the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse. That's right...head on up to the lighthouse and inlet area!
Once you get to the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse, take the trail (path) that goes around the lighthouse and behind it. You will find a nice path which ends at the sea wall and there are several wooden benches that you can sit on to enjoy the sunrises and/or sunsets!
If you are like me and want to stand right on the sandy beach...you can do that too! There are ramps and steps that lead down onto the beach and you can stand there (or sit on the beach) to see the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Hubby and I like to take a blanket and sit directly on the beach. The views here are amazing!
The sun comes up over the Atlantic Ocean and it sets on the west side of the island and it's really pretty to stand here and see it. Not only that...there are NO crowds here and most of the time hubby and I have the beach all to ourselves!
You can click on the photos in this blog post to enlarge them so that you can see all of the beautiful details. These photos were taken back in early September 2013 but trust me, the sunsets are gorgeous year round when the weather is nice. I love the yellow, purple and coral colors in the sunset that we saw on this particular day.
If you are heading down to Wildwood, I highly suggest that you take time one evening to go stand on the beach right behind the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse and try to catch one of the beautiful sunsets or sunrises! Enjoy!
