Hereford Inlet Lighthouse Maritime Festival

Hereford Inlet Lighthouse Maritime Festival
Last month we had the opportunity to visit the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse Maritime Festival for the second year in a row. We had attended the festival in 2015 and you can read that post right here on our blog. This year we attended again and had an even better time than the year before.

The Maritime Festival is held on the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse property, in their parking lot and it runs down the roped off street that runs in front of the lighthouse in North Wildwood, the Village of Anglesea. It is always held on a weekend in June and this year it was held on Saturday June 18th and Sunday June 19th, 2016.

This festival is 100% free to attend. You can find a lot of free and paid parking nearby. We just walk the 5 blocks to it from our beach condo on the North Wildwood Seawall which makes for a very scenic walk. On the day we attended, it was HOT, so I was pretty happy to see all of the food and beverage vendors in attendance.

When walking up and down the aisles and visiting the booths, you'll see all sorts of historic coastal and maritime items on display. I loved seeing the blacksmiths do their thing...the good old fashioned way. I also enjoyed see some the of the educational displays they had set up about the lighthouse & it's history, along with other educational things.

As someone who LOVES the beach, I really enjoyed shopping at a lot of the participating vendors! You could buy beautiful framed artwork, original prints, jewelry, home decor items, garden art, apparel for the entire family, wind chimes, tote bags & beach bags, hats and all sorts of other things! Since I decorate in a beach & coastal style, I went a little shopping nuts!

If you're looking for anything beach or coastal related, you'll definitely find a lot of great handcrafted goodies here! I could spend several hours there each day just doing my shopping! There is so much to look at and buy....plus it's at really great prices too!

If you love outdoor events & festivals, you'll love the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse Maritime Festival. It's free to attend. If you want to take an inside tour of the lighthouse while you're there, it will cost you a reasonable admission fee. You can walk all around the lighthouse and their beautiful flower gardens that surround it for free. Tons of picture-taking opportunities for you!

You can learn more about the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse in North Wildwood New Jersey and their schedule of operations by visiting their site. They also post updates about their events, fairs and festivals well in-advance for those who are interested in attending them. We had a great time and will definitely be back again next year!

I love that the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse Maritime Festival is free to attend. There seem to be a lot of arts and crafts in the beach and coastal theme there and I am sure the historical presentations were interesting too.
