Visiting the Wilbur Chocolate Store in Lititz

We took a day trip down to Lititz in Pennsylvania and one place that we had to visit was the world-famous Wilbur Chocolate Store. If you talk to people who live in central Pennsylvania, they all swear that this is the best chocolate around. Yes, even better than other famous-counterparts in the area.

The company has been making fine, gourmet chocolates since 1884, that's over 125 years of satisfying chocolate taste buds every where! These people know how to make some of the best chocolate and chocolate confections in the entire world!

There is FREE parking located right in front of their store and parking along some of the side streets surrounding it. During our visit, we walked to the store from East Main Street and it was a very nice enjoyable walk. If you decide to park elsewhere (we recommend), then you can visit other shops and attractions along the way.

Once you walk through their front door you'll immediately smell that delicious chocolate aroma. To the right of the entrance we saw some vintage candy making machinery, molds and other tools of the trade. They had a nice collection of them on display.

As you head back through the store you'll see a large glass window with stools sitting on your right. This is where you can stand to watch their chocolate-makers make chocolate confections. On the day that we visited, there were two ladies in there working on separate batches of something (we couldn't tell what they were making), nonetheless, it was interesting to watch.

Throughout the store you'll find all kinds of confections! We purchase chocolate covered peanuts, chocolate covered pretzels and my grandchildren each selected a chocolate lollipop and foil-wrapped gold coins. They had hundreds of different confections for you to choose from. I could of seriously bought one of everything that they were offering!

The store is extremely clean and the retail staff was super-friendly. I had a question about something I was purchasing and they were happy to help. Overall, I think their prices are reasonable and their chocolate candy was well-worth the price that we paid.

Right across the street from the store you'll see the old Wilbur Chocolate Company factory building. I love looking at old buildings and this one is absolutely fantastic! It sits right across the railroad tracks from the Lititz Welcome Center and community park.

We don't get down to Lititz too often, but when we do...a visit to the Wilbur Chocolate Store will be at the top of my list.
