Spirograph Mural Art Exhibits in Philadelphia

I've been wanting to sit down and write this blog post for several months now and finally, I've got the time to do it. If you remember playing with Spirograph as a child, I think you'll love what I'm going to show you!

Back in October of 2015, we had the opportunity to spend a few days in the beautiful city of Philadelphia in Pennsylvania. We had a wonderful time exploring various museums, art centers, restaurants, historical attractions and other areas & items of interest. It's always fun to play tourist in a city that your not familiar with.

While we were in town, Philadelphia was hosting a city wide Spirograph Art Exhibit and tourists & residents got to participate in all of the fun! I remember sitting down and playing with my brother's Spirograph as a child for hours, upon hours...creative beautiful art.

Anyway, we had to the opportunity to participate in one of the fun exhibits (as you can see in the photos) and add our designs to the already-made designs of other people who passed by. There were a lot of participants and everyone was excited to see all of the designs being made.

While it may look like scribbles to you, it was really quite impressive to see in person. Beautiful shades of red, orange, blue, green and yellow...all combined together to make an impressive piece of floor art (at the time) and then to be a wall mural in the future.

You can see one of the finished pieces that was quickly hung up on a wall for everyone to see. We had a great time participating & seeing this and would absolutely LOVE to see something like this again. Heck, I wish they would bring fun artsy tour things like this to our own city. Enjoy!
