The Super 322 Drive-In Movie Theater for Family Entertainment

Super 322 Drive-In Movie Theater in Woodland Pennsylvania
When I was a little kid...my family would often pack us up into the car and head to one of the local drive-in movie theaters. During the early 1980's you could find at least 4 drive-in theaters in the Harrisburg area. Over the years...they've all disappeared. The closest one to Harrisburg now is Haar's and is about 50 minutes away.

A few months ago we took a road trip through northern Pennsylvania and stumbled upon the Super 322 Drive-In Movie Theater in Woodland, right off Interstate 80 and between Clearfield and Philipsburg, Pennsylvania. If traveling by I-80, you'll want to take the 123 exit at Woodland. The theater is approximately 5-8 minutes away.

This drive-in theater got its start back in the spring of 1950. It has changed ownership several times over the years and is now owned and operated by a local family. They're open seasonally, May through September on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. They show double-features (2 movies) and all are first-run, family-friendly films.

You'll pay your admission at the ticket booth (CASH ONLY) and then drive out onto the field. The first movie will begin playing around sunset. They do NOT permit outside food or beverages onto the property, unless you pay extra for a permit. They do have an on-site concession stand that offers your classic movie theater fare: popcorn, candy, soft pretzels, soft drinks, etc. There is a public restroom that you can use, if you need it.

The Super 322 Drive-In Movie Theater is a really cool place to visit. If you grew up in the 60's, 70's and early 1980's, I'm sure you remember drive-in movie theaters from your childhood. It was really nice to discover that this family-owned/operated theater is still in business and open seasonally. If you're ever in the area, we highly recommend that you stop in for some great family entertainment and memories.
