Linden Hall All-Girls Boarding School - Lititz Pennsylvania
The historic Linden Hall School is the oldest all-girls private boarding school in the United States. You'll find it located on 212 East Main Street in Lititz, Pennsylvania, across the street from the Moravian Church. If you're unfamiliar with the area, Lititz is approximately 6 miles north of the city of Lancaster and located in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country.

The school was founded by the Moravian's in 1746 and sits on a 49 acres campus. According to their website, the student body is made up of girls from 16 states and 32 different countries. The Moravian's believed that church and school go hand-in-hand and strongly believed that girls should be just as educated as boys.

Right in front of the property you'll find the official historical marker with information on it. It reads as follows:

"Linden Hall - Oldest girls' resident school in the United Sates. Founded in 1746 by the Moravian Church. Originally a day school, it has since 1794 drawn boarding students from a wide area. The school was chartered under its present name in 1863".

While on a day trip down to Lititz in Pennsylvania we stumbled upon Linden Hall all-girls boarding school. Up until now, I had never heard of it. We were walking by it and heading to the downtown business district when we found it. What drew our attention to the building was it's fantastic architecture and beautifully landscaped grounds. While there, I was able to get some decent photographs to share with all of you.
