Stroll Down the Avenue of the Stars in Wildwood

Stroll Down the Famous Avenue of the Stars in Wildwood, New Jersey
Love the Wildwood Doo Wop experience? Enjoy learning about Wildwood's historic past? Looking for something fun to do that's totally free? If you answered yes to any of those questions I would like to recommend that you take a stroll down the Avenue of the Stars!

What is the Avenue of Stars you might ask? Well, I'm going to tell you. It's similar to the Walk of Stars in Hollywood, but on a much smaller scale. You can find Wildwood's version of that on Pacific Avenue in downtown Wildwood, New Jersey.

The Avenue of Stars recognizes the people who played a roll in the Wildwoods music history.  They can include bands, solo singers, disc jockeys, comedians, etc. Some of the names we saw on the "stars" were names we were familiar with and other's we had never heard of.

You will want to park your car and get out and walk down one side of Pacific Avenue, cross the street and then walk back on the other side of the street. It's NOT a very long walk at all...2 blocks at most. The names on the sidewalk are really hard to read and you will need to get up close onto the star to read them...that's the only downfall. I wish they were easier to read and to photograph.

While your visiting the downtown Wildwood area you can do some shopping in the stores that line both sides of Pacific Avenue. You can see a few of them in our photographs. If you're looking for a laundry mat, a few places to eat, etc. You'll find a few places in the near vicinity that you can visit too.

I would NOT plan a special trip to do just this activity, but if you're visiting the Wildwoods or in Cape May...it's a nice little family-friendly activity to do and it's FREE! Plus, it gets you off the boardwalk and exploring something new. You never know...you could find a new downtown business that you'll love!
