Visiting the Historic Presque Isle Lighthouse in Erie

Presque Isle (named by the French as "Almost an Island" is located in northeastern Pennsylvania along the Lake Erie shoreline. It's a popular summertime travel destination by those who live in the northeast and the surrounding area.

One of the most iconic things you will see while visiting Presque Isle is the historic Presque Isle Lighthouse located in Presque Isle State Park. This park is beautifully located along the banks of Lake Erie in Erie, Pennsylvania.

If you're a fan of visiting and touring lighthouses you'll find that Presque Isle Lighthouse is open for tours May through late September. Tours take place every 20 minutes starting at 10 AM and ending at 4:40 PM, 7 days a week during the "in-season" time of year.  You can purchase your tickets at the lighthouse on the day that you plan to visit.

Current (2019) Admission Rates:

Keeper's House & Climb the Tower: $6.00 per person.
Keeper's House - Only $3.00 per person.
Surrounding Grounds - Free to walk the grounds & visit the gift shop.

When visiting I recommend that you check out their official website for their operating schedule. You'll want to allow at least 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours in your schedule if you plan to do both tours (the keeper's house & climbing up the steps to the top of the tower). Make sure you wear comfortable walking shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. Parking is located nearby.
