Hanover Resolves Historical Marker in Grantville Dauphin County

Over the past 9 years we've been following the Pennsylvania Historical Marker Trail all through our great state and documenting them here on the blog. Millions of people walk or drive by these markers every year and never give them a second thought. They're a great source of historic information and we're trying to bring some much needed attention to them.

While following the Historical Marker Trail through Dauphin County we came across the Hanover Resolves historical marker located along US Route 22 and Allentown Road in Grantville. We were able to pull off onto the shoulder of the road to photograph it. There are no parking lots, etc. nearby...so put your flasher lights on and be careful with the moving traffic.

Hanover Resolves

The earliest resolves for independence in the State. Drawn June 4, 1774, by Col. Timothy Green and eight Hanover Township patriots. They committed their cause to "Heaven and our Rifles"

By: Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission.

We previously stumbled upon another historical marker located in Dauphin, Pennsylvania that talks about Col. Timothy Green and you can check out that post with the information HERE. If you're in Grantville and following the Pennsylvania Historical Marker trail you'll find 2 additional markers within 3 miles of one another.
