The City of Carlisle Historical Marker

Over the last 12 years we've been following the Pennsylvania Historical Marker Trail all through our great state and documenting them on the blog. Millions of people walk or drive by these markers every year and never give them a second thought. They're a great source of historic information and we're trying to bring some much needed attention to them.

While following the Historical Marker Trail through Cumberland County we came upon the CARLISLE historical marker located at the intersection of Walnut Bottom Road and Bicentennial Drive. You can pull over on the side of the street to photograph it for your waymarking records. There are a lot of other markers nearby, so follow the trail to find them.

I too always want to stop and read any historical markers that I come across when traveling. They give me so much insight into the area and the history of that place.
