While following the Historical Marker Trail through Cumberland County and came across the Major Andre' historical marker located in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. You'll find it located on South Hanover Street. You can pull over to the side of the road and get a photograph for your waymarking records.
Major Andre'
For a short time in 1776, Major André and Lt. Despard, British prisoners of war, were detained in a tavern that stood on this site. Some years later, after an exchange and recapture, André was executed as a spy.
