Dauphin Narrows Statue of Liberty in Dauphin Pennsylvania

Dauphin Narrows Statue of Liberty in Dauphin Pennsylvania
If you are taking a road trip through south central Pennsylvania and going to be traveling 322/22 down through the Dauphin Narrows you will want to look outside your car window on the right and try to spot the "Statue of Liberty".

This replica "Statue of Liberty" stands 25 feet tall and stands on an old stone bridge platform in the middle of the Susquehanna River, one of the largest rivers in the area. She stands on the old stone bridge platform from an old bridge that used to connect Marysville with Dauphin Pennsylvania. I can't remember when she was constructed but I do know she has been there for several years now.

Throughout this blog post you'll see several different photographs of Lady Liberty out in the middle of the Susquehanna River. The photos were taken at different times of the year, so you'll see the seasons changing in the background.

From the highway she looks very small in her size but trust me, she stands over 25 feet tall. Local area fishermen like to take their boats out onto the Susquehanna River and do some fishing in the waters that surround the old abandoned stone bridge platform. I heard that the fishing is pretty good in that area. You can fish for crappies, carp, catfish, trout and various species of bass in the Susquehanna River.

The above photograph was added to this travel blog feature in January 2018...the middle of winter and the photo was taken during a cold winter evening. As you can see, the sun was just getting ready to set behind the mountain, so it's a low-light photograph of our beautiful Lady Liberty.

If you are ever traveling in this area of Pennsylvania, you will want to look for her as she is pretty famous in this area of the state. Most travelers don't even notice her when they are driving by, so add this "site" to your bucket list of things to see & do during a Pennsylvania road trip.
